Trying to find the right artwork for your space can be quite challenging at times, especially when you are working on a budget. For those of you who want to spice up your living space without the added costs, try doing it yourself or perhaps pawning it off to a friend if they are willing. I have been on the hunt for these Anne Siems prints for some time now. I decided if I couldn’t find them, I’d have to make them. I picked up some white frames from Homesense ($14.99 each), and sized watercolour paper I had lying around from some previous art class to fit the frame. After a long night and a couple glasses of wine…Voila!

I fell in love with this bed the first time I laid eyes on it. It’s bold curvy design and black sleek look has just the right modern traditional and country appeal. Naturally, I had to create a room to showcase this lovely piece. The great thing about this bed is that its style is so versatile. That being said, I wanted to create a modern traditional feel. To achieve this look, I made sure that the majority of the room was comprised of modern elements. Geometric patterns, cool colours and sleek designs juxtaposed with more traditional pieces such as the dresser and the lamp. I think it looks fantastic. What do you think?
Looks like I checked in during the right time. Homesense basket inventory has a great selection of different sizes and styles that make for terrific accents around the home. You can show off your closets and use these pretty baskets as storage to hide your kids toys and books. Have a look at some of my great finds. I’m going back tomorrow to pick up that rustic basket I left behind (bottom right hand corner). Not sure what I was thinking, but I will be baking this week and it will make for a great gift basket. Wouldn’t you agree?
I’ve died and gone to palette heaven! This is one of the most cost effective and eco-friendly way to create furniture. I’ve been obsessing over palette designs for quite some time now, and I am pretty sure a lot of you are too. So, I wanted to share with you the greatness I have found scouring the net. I wish there was a tutorial attached to these beauties, butunfortunately there isn’t. For all those DIY’ers out there, hope this is a great source of inspiration. Scroll down for some more great works.
